04/02/2007
Question:  I WAS ASKED A QUESTION BY A FRIEND AND I COULD NOT ANSWERE IT AS I HAVE NOT REVIEWED THE LAWS FOR SEVERAL YEARS AS I AM RETIRED NOW. CAN A PERSON DISCHARGE A [PROPERLY LICENSED LEGAL] M-16 IN FULL AUTOMATIC SELECTION,TARGET PRACTICE ON FOREST LAND, IN THE SAME AREAS USED FOR SEMI AUTOMATIC AND SINGLE SHOT PRACTICE. IT USED TO BE FINE AS LONG AS ALL FIREARMS WERE LICENSED AND THE SAME SAFE CONDITIONS AS TARGET SHOOTING WERE OBSERVED AND THERE WERE NO FIRE CLOSURES. I HAVE BEEN RETIRED NOW FOR MANY YEARS AND I DID NOT FEEL I COULD GIVE AN ANSWERE.

Answer:  As far as I know, yes, NFA (full auto) items are the same as any other firearm in that respect
